8 for 80

This is not just another appeal!

Yes, we are asking for a donation to our High Holiday Appeal . . . but this is also an opportunity to celebrate Habonim’s milestone 80th anniversary by becoming an 8 for 80 Builder and getting special thank-you benefits.
What’s so special about Habonim turning 80? Our beloved shul was founded in November 1939, a year after Kristallnacht, by German Jews who established a synagogue named “the Builders” in their new homeland. We continue to honor their legacy by building Jewish community together – through our religious, educational and social activities – and by building our new home, a beautiful space that will shelter Habonim for our next 80 years.
How can I help support this extraordinary milestone? Our work is spiritual, nourishing and warm but it takes significant resources to run our thriving synagogue – costs that will increase when we move into our new, larger space. Dues and tuition do not cover our operating budget, and we must rely on the generosity of our members to fulfill our mission to our community.
We need to make our special 80th year a banner fundraising year. Funds that we raise now will help secure Habonim’s financial future for many years to come.
How do I become an 8 for 80 Builder? Donate $8,000 (including contributions already made toward the High Holiday Appeal) by the end of December and you will join our 8 for 80 Builders. By giving at this level in our special anniversary year, not only will you get the satisfaction of helping continue the legacy of our founding generation, our 8 for 80 Builders will receive two tickets to each of these Habonim events:
Winter Gala
Nursery School fundraiser
Passover Seder
Purim party
Chanukah party
